The Cause of Humanity

Statement by the Foreign Affairs Secretariat of the CNT

CNT cannot be just initials. Not even a union as such, as
you already know us. We didn’t come to give an
introduction about our history, which is tightly linked
with the internationalism of the working class. It is
important to point out, on the other hand, that we are
not an insensitive organization with only cold political
positions. We have never been that.

This statement by the Foreign Affairs Secretariat is
written by people who inhabit this Mother Earth and
who identify themselves in many ways: as working
class, from a particular part of the world by chance, as
mothers, fathers, sisters or cousins of someone, as
humans. Finally we are, by choice, anarchosyndicalists.

Today, here and now, we came because we feel
directly called by the cause of humanity.

It is not possible to defend the fight for freedom and,
at the same time, turn a blind eye to the liberation
struggles of the people from a particular place. We
must not confuse the violence of the oppressor with
that of the oppressed. We must not point an
indifferent finger at both sides, as that makes you the
domesticated dog for those who own the power. We
must not look at the color of hair or skin to show
humanity. We must not even appeal to history or
imposed rights to choose sides from the comfort of the
living room in front of the television. We must not
show the cynicism and hypocrisy to put ourselves first
with those European left values, manipulating
terminology from a university office. We must not
judge what is different nor, often, what can be
understandable. We must not be what all of us, many
times, have been.

This statement could have been written from the cab
of a truck with eyes full of tears, or from the dining hall
of a factory with a heart full of anger. Because we must
have passion for Humanity.

A place in the world is calling us: Palestine. From the
ruins of Gaza, from the bowels, from the screams of a
mother, from the eyes of a bloodied child who does
not understand, from the atrocious hunger, from the
mass graves left by criminal henchmen, from a place on
Mother Earth devastated by bombs.
If you are not moved by injustice, you are on the wrong
side.

The cause of humanity makes you stand with the
Palestinian Resistance, despite any political
contradictions that this could entail for you. Because
that is secondary right now when we are facing a
genocide. And that silence, due to prejudices, is pure
complicity.

From our smallness and militant humility, as anarchosyndicalists, we want to make a political call to support by all means, in all forums, and in all forms, the cause
of the liberation of Palestine. We ask for your action
because it is the cause of Humanity. Now, it is our
fingers that point.
