IWW-PAWA Emergency Solidarity Appeal: Support our Comrades!

PAWA and IWW-WISERA have joined forces to support comrades fighting exploitation in the care sector.

The care sector is one of the most precarious in the UK labour market, with workers in the sector experiencing some of the worst conditions possible.

Since November 2024, members of the Pan African Workers’ Association (PAWA) and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) have been involved in a labour dispute with Apple Homecare, who committed all sorts of abuses.  Most of these workers are migrants and are subject to visa restrictions, that the company is perfectly willing to exploit. More info on their plight can be found here IWW-PAWA Emergency Solidarity Appeal: Support our Comrades! – Industrial Workers of the World (IWW)

PAWA and the IWW supported the workers to submit a collective grievance against their working conditions. Yet, this was met with a fresh wave of repression, including the company’s refusal to pay wages. This means that the comrades now need our financial support, to stop evictions or cover childcare. Against bosses’ repression, working class solidarity! Please, donate if you can in the following link https://www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-solidarity-appeal-support-our-comrades

The money raised will go to support workers with their immediate costs. If the company do end up paying them, the money will go towards a fighting fund to be used to support the rest of the Norwich care workers in this struggle to improve conditions across the sector.

We appreciate your solidarity, and we hope to see you in the next stages of this campaign.
